Charlottesville and the University of Virginia have many resources from which you may choose in order to get the support, information, and counseling that you need, including police, prosecutors, allied agencies, and local agencies who will work with you in any way that you need, whether through your healing process, with the legal system, or, if you are a UVA student, with any academic concerns you may have as a result of this trauma. Click here or on the "Resources" button to the left to find specific referrals and phone numbers. Deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-impaired people may find that some of these numbers are not TTY-accessible. You may want to make initial contact through the Virginia Relay Center by dialing 711 (TTY Users only). Statistics If you are looking for statistics on sexual assault and domestic violence at the University and elsewhere, you will find it here. Publications offered by Sexual and Domestic Violence Services SDVS offers several publications that include much of the information on these pages, as well as assistance to parents of UVA students. Resource Library The SDVS's Resource Library is available for use by members of the University Community. In addition, the UVA Women's Center has a library open for use by all, including members of the public. Both collections offer books, tapes, and videos on these topics. |
